Future Of The Courts Commission

Position:  NCCBI supports the recommendations made by the Commission on the Future of the Courts.

Explanation:  It has been 30 years since there was a comprehensive study conducted of our court system and its needs for the future. Last year, such a comprehensive study was undertaken by the Commission on the Future of the Courts. That Commission made many recommendations that it saw as necessary to carry our court system forward into the 21st century. The most important of these, judicial selection and retention, is the subject of a separate position by NCCBI.

The other recommended changes are also supported by NCCBI.
