Chair Barry W. Eveland
Welcome to the electronic office of North Carolina
Citizens for Business and Industry. We are the largest business
organization in North Carolina and we serve as the state chamber of
commerce. I am the volunteer chair of NCCBI this year, and I hope
that the information available at this site will be useful to you,
whether you are a member of our organization or a visitor hoping to
learn more about the Tar Heel State.
We're not an agency of state
government, but you can learn about anything you need to know about
North Carolina through links at this site -- everything from how to
get a highway map to what economic development tax credits are
available to companies that expand here. We also have a search engine
to help you locate the best North Carolina companies to do business
with, as well as extensive links to other sites with information about
the state.
But this site mainly is intended to
strengthen communications between NCCBI and the executives at the more
than 1,900 companies across the state that are members of the
organization. Providing our members with information and resources has
been a vital part of NCCBI's mission throughout our 61-year history.
If you would like to learn more about NCCBI, contact our director of membership at klockamy@nccbi.org.
And if you're not a member of NCCBI, we
invite you to
join us and help us keep North Carolina
a "good business state."

President Phil Kirk
During the 62 years that NCCBI has served
North Carolina, we have relied on a lot of progressive thinking and
innovative approaches to make the state a better place to live, work
and raise a family. This Web site is yet another example of that
innovation, and I hope you find it useful. If you have any comments or
suggestions about this site, you can e-mail me at
pkirk@nccbi.org.
Business
leaders throughout the state see daily how NCCBI is influencing public
policy on major tax and regulatory issues in the General Assembly. Our members and staff are
committed to continue into the next millennium with responsible
government and quality education in North Carolina as our primary
objectives. Both are essential for a good economic environment.
I'm most
proud of our members' commitment to public education and the drive
they have led for many years now to improve our public schools. We are making great strides in education in North
Carolina, and the support of business leaders is vital if we are to
continue moving ahead.
I
encourage you to learn more about the progress we're making in public
education in North Carolina, which you can do by visiting our
education sites.
Your ideas are welcome. To learn more about NCCBI and what we are
doing, please don’t hesitate to contact me by e-mail, telephone or
just drop our offices in Raleigh. Our goal is to continue and enhance North Carolina as a state
that has the best in quality of life, an economic vitality second to
